Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)

New York DMV issues a variety of types of license plates. Plates are available for cars, trucks, trailers, motorcycles, ATVs and snowmobiles, plus livery, ambulances, buses, and other commercial vehicles. You can order these plus customized “Vanity Plates” at the Greene County Department of Motor Vehicles.

The Department of Motor Vehicles provides services for testing for learner, CDL, and motorcycle permits, original and renewal drivers licenses, as well as abstracts of licenses, restricted and conditional licenses and enrollment in the Drinking Driver Program.

To renew your driver’s license or vehicle registration, stop in at our office. For even greater convenience, when you receive your renewal notice from New York State simply fill out the enclosed forms, make out your payment check to “Greene County Clerk”, and mail the pink envelope to:

E-ZPass Cashless Thruway Tolls

E-ZPass is used for toll collection statewide. You can purchase your E-ZPass electronic toll payment device at the Greene County Department of Motor Vehicles during office hours.
