New Parents and Babies

To help keep yourself and your new baby healthy, a Public Health Nurse is available via telehealth visit or a visit to your home to provide teaching and guidance for you and your baby.  The following education is provided:

  • Visits during pregnancy and post-partum
  • Breastfeeding and bottle feeding instructions
  • Bathing of infant
  • Circumcision care
  • Care of infant’s cord
  • Temperature taking/when to call the doctor
  • Well childcare
  • Lead testing
  • Immunization schedule and vaccine information
  • SIDS/”Back to Sleep”
  • Early Intervention Program
  • Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS)

Breastfeeding Services At No Cost To You!

Provided by our Maternal Child Health Nurse and Certified Lactation Counselor, including:

  • Phone, telehealth, or in-home visits
  • Breastfeeding advice:  positioning, sore breasts, latching, infant growth, and more
  • Resources for breastfeeding and support services
