Legislative Initiatives

County Governments play an instrumental role in the overall public administration of federal, state, and local policies, programs & services.

The Greene County Legislature supports and initiates policies and projects that benefit the well-being of its residents, and provides economic opportunity for those who live, work and run businesses within its jurisdiction.

Our County Legislature’s primary duties regarding the New York State legislative process are:

• To advance the role County Governments play in the development of State Legislation at all times, and
• To take clear legislative actions that protect the county from adverse situations – supporting state and federal actions taken in the best interest of its constituents and opposing those actions that have negative impacts on its residents and businesses.
