CATSKILL, NY – The Greene County Legislature Health Services Committee hosted a presentation on May 6, 2026, featuring former Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro and Dutchess County Deputy Commissioner Dana Hopkins focused on advancing Greene County’s implementation of the ThinkDIFFERENTLY initiative.

Greene County previously adopted the ThinkDIFFERENTLY principles, committing to a more inclusive, accessible, and responsive approach to serving individuals with disabilities and those facing mental health challenges.

The presentation outlined actionable next steps to build on that commitment and deliver measurable results for individuals and families throughout Greene County.

Molinaro and Hopkins shared proven strategies and lessons from Dutchess County’s nationally recognized model, including:

  • Creating a single point of access to simplify how families connect with services
  • Improving coordination across health, behavioral health, and social service systems
  • Expanding outreach to ensure individuals, families, and caregivers are aware of available resources
  • Embedding a culture of dignity, independence, and opportunity across county government

Patrick Linger, Chair of the Greene County Legislature noted “The #ThinkDIFFERENTLY principles are something we can all get behind for the benefit and inclusion of everyone in Greene County.”

“Greene County has already shown leadership by embracing Think Differently. We’ve made great progress over the years. This is about what comes next—turning that commitment into real, lasting outcomes for individuals and families,” said Majority Leader Legislator Matthew Luvera.

“Changing the ways we all think about our neighbors with disabilities only serves to strengthen our communities,” said Minority Leader Harry Lennon. “It’s a perfect opportunity to demonstrate our shared values.”

The presentation emphasized practical implementation, cross-agency collaboration, and a shared goal of ensuring no individual or family is left to navigate the system alone.
